Organic cotton; is a cotton which is produced from non-genetically modified plants without the use of toxic substances such as insecticide, chemical fertilizer. This method is more costly than conventional cotton production.
3% of agricultural products worldwide are cotton, whereas 16% of pesticide consumption in the world is used for cotton production. Insecticides used in cotton fibers settle, do not disappear with washing and easily absorbed by our skin. For this reason, the importance of producing genetically unmodified cotton by organic methods has increased.
