Technical Answer The difference between non-ferrous and wrinkle-resistant shirts for 100% cotton shirts is the surfaces they apply to the shirts. Fabric manufacturers measure wrinkle resistance with “DP Grade.. 3-3.5 DP means that the shirt is wrinkle-free. Anything in the 2-2.99 range will be wrinkle resistant. Woven and fabric weight also play a major role in wrinkle resistance. Twill weaves are more susceptible to wrinkles, while twill holds the wrinkles optimally. Generally, the lighter the weight of a fabric, the better it is able to withstand wrinkles because a fabric such as oxford is prone to wrinkling.
